On the occasion of the day of the employee of the national security bodies of the Republic of Armenia, a solemn meeting was held in the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, in which the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan participated.

The National Security Service Director of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Abazyan, made an opening speech, who congratulated the employees of the National Security Service on the occasion of the professional holiday and presented the most significant results of the joint work of the National Security Service in the previous year, according to the main directions of activity a large-scale process in the direction of systemic reforms. In order to carry out these works more systematically and purposefully, a strategic program of reforms in the National Security Bodies is also being developed.
"As part of the implementation of the reforms of the prospective development of the National Security Service, work has continued to improve the system of normative and internal legal acts regulating the service's activities. Since 2023, the service has been conducting a certification process, as a result of which servicemen have been given the opportunity to improve their professional knowledge, as well as their material condition." Summing up 2024 during the work performed by the main units of the National Security Agency, the Director of the National Security Service stated that the recorded positive results do not at all mean that there are no gaps and shortcomings, in which direction daily consistent work is being carried out.
The director of the NSS also referred to the protection of the state border and noted that since August 1 of last year "Zvartnots" and since December 30 "Agarak" border control has been carried out entirely by the forces of Border Guard troops.
"As a result of the border liberation, the State Border Guard is also being carried out in the Kirants, Voskepar, Baghanis and Berkaber sections of the Tavush region. 2 border guards have been put into operation in the guarded area of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the Syunik region, and the construction of 4 guards and 1 guard house is in the final stage. On the occasion of the professional holiday, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also congratulated the employees of the National Security Bodies, who noted that in 2024 the National Security Service also fulfilled the task set before it, and the changes made in the Service are very significant in terms of the logic of the activities of special services in a democratic society.

On the occasion of the professional holiday, a number of NSS employees were awarded with a commemorative medal of the RA Prime Minister for their contribution to the strengthening of security, legal order and legitimacy of the homeland.
In line with the advice of the day, the RA NSS director, deputies, heads of the main departments and the commander of the Border Guard troops paid tribute and bowed flowers to the khachkar-memorials erected in memory of the border guards who died and became heroes while performing their duty to the motherland.
