The White House declined to comment on Trump's remarks about Canada's unification

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who announced his intention to resign earlier, was a "faithful friend" of the USA. Karin Jean-Pierre, press secretary of the White House, said this at a regular briefing for journalists on Monday.

"Prime Minister Trudeau has been a staunch friend of the United States during his decade at the helm of the Canadian government. As close allies, neighbors and members of the G7, we have worked closely together on a range of issues facing our countries and the world," he said. According to him, US President Joe Biden is grateful to Trudeau for the partnership.

"We support the prime minister and the people of Canada in electing a new leader of the governing Liberal Party and forming a new government," said Karin Jean-Pierre. are in favor of their country becoming the 51st state of the USA.

"I am not going to comment on everything that the elected president will say. As we know, this administration has two weeks left. The president [Joe Biden] is going to focus on what we're doing today. I'm just not going to comment on everything the president-elect says," Karin Jean-Pierre said.
