Extraordinary parliamentary elections have started in Great Britain

British people are going to the polls today to determine the composition of the new government that will lead the country for the next five years, Western media write. This is the first general election in Great Britain after the country's exit from the European Union. Polling stations have been opened in 650 constituencies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, about 50 million people have the right to vote throughout the country. 4,515 candidates are competing for 650 seats in the House of Commons of the British Parliament. Polls have shown that the opposition Labor Party, Kir led by Starmer, could win a landslide victory over the ruling conservatives, returning to power after a 14-year hiatus. By law, the government is formed by the party that wins a majority of seats in parliament, at least 326. The first results of the vote will be announced shortly after the polls close. However, the general picture related to the formation of the new parliament will become clear on the morning of July 5. It is expected that the leader of the winning party will go to Buckingham Palace and inform King Charles III about his readiness to form a government.
