"New York Mets" baseball player Juan Soto has signed the largest contract in the history of world sports with the club, according to ESPN.

The 26-year-old from the Dominican Republic signed a 15-year contract worth $765 million ($51 million per year) with the American club. Soto has earned $82.3 million so far in his career.

The previous record was set by another baseball club, the Los Angeles Dodgers, who signed Shohei Otani to a 10-year contract worth $700 million.
