Trump has nominated Cash Patel for the post of FBI director

The newly elected US President Donald Trump has decided to appoint Kash Patel as the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Trump announced this on his Truth social network page. "I am proud to announce that Cash Patel will become the next director of the FBI," the publication noted.

According to the elected head of state, Patel is an "excellent lawyer and investigator" who "struggled against corruption, defended justice and the American people."

He expressed hope that Patel will "put an end to the crime epidemic in the United States."

Trump noted that Patel "played an important role" in uncovering interference attributed to Moscow in the 2016 US presidential election.
