The President of Malawi, Lazarus Chakwera, in his address to the country's population, confirmed that Vice President Saulos Chilima died in the plane crash. "Rescuers found the plane, which was completely destroyed as a result of the accident. The vice president and all the people on the plane were killed," Chakwera informed. Earlier information was published that the vice president's plane left Malawi's capital Lilongwe at 9 am local time and was on its way to the city of Mzuzu.
