The RA President met with the representatives of the Armenian Evangelical Union of North America

The President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Reverend Henrik Shahnazaryan, Senior Pastor of the Armenian Evangelical Union of North America and representatives of the Union at his residence in Los Angeles.

Greeting the guests, Vahagn Khachaturyan highly appreciated the clear position adopted by the Union since Armenia's independence to support the establishment and strengthening of statehood as much as possible, and also expressed his gratitude for the implementation of many humanitarian and social programs by the Union.

Expressing gratitude for the reception, the participants of the meeting reaffirmed the unequivocal readiness of the Armenian Evangelical Union to contribute to the development and strengthening of Armenia in the near future.

During the meeting, ideas were exchanged in a direct atmosphere regarding general regional developments and realities.

Vahagn Khachaturyan, answering the questions of the audience, gave details about the current stage and general principles of the demarcation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

In his speech, the president noted that Armenia is firmly moving on the path of establishing and developing neighborly relations with Azerbaijan and all neighboring countries, guided by the principles of the integrity of territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of countries and international fundamental rights and norms. In this context, the importance of promoting steps aimed at creating an atmosphere of mutual trust between the countries was emphasized.

During the conversation, the results of the president's visit to "Silicon Valley" and the reforms taking place in Armenia's economy and the main development trends were discussed.

At the meeting, the questions regarding the tasks and functions of the church community and clergy in public life were touched upon, the problems in this field and the ways to solve them were pointed out.

During the conversation, it was emphasized the need to unite the efforts of political, public, and spiritual organizations in order to formulate public solidarity and joint agendas.
