Presidential elections are held in Romania today.

The head of state will be elected for the next five years.

13 candidates are running for the post of President of Romania. According to Romanian legislation, the candidate who receives more than half of the votes included in the lists is declared the winner in the presidential elections.

If the votes are less than 50%, then in two weeks there will be a second round of elections, where the candidate with a simple majority is declared the winner.
