Andrei Slepnyov, Minister of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission, announced this at the Petersburg International Economic Conference. He expressed the opinion that Iran imagines itself as part of the Union, and observer status is only the first step. Slepnyov reminded that Iran is not a member of the WTO.
