The official opening ceremony of the 37th World Military Wrestling Championship was held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports Concert Complex in Yerevan.
The official opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Edward Asryan, the Deputy Minister of the Armed Forces of Armenia, and a number of officials of the International Military Council The President of the International Military Sports Council, Colonel, made a speech of welcome Rolim Nilton, wishing the participating athletes good luck.
RA Defense Minister Suren Papikyan wished great success to all the athletes and declared the World Championship open. "Sports unites people around the idea of fair competition, good will, solidarity, tolerance and peace and its capital Yerevan never depart from their sports traditions," said Minister Papikyan of the 37th World Military Wrestling representatives of 24 countries participate in the championship. In total, about 400 participants arrived in Armenia.
