911, 102, 103 calls will be suspended. it is planned to create 112

A project was submitted for consideration by the government, which proposes to approve the strategy for the implementation of reforms in the police sector and the action plan for 2024-2026. According to Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan, he offers a new strategy approach for prompt and effective service of public alarms.

"The establishment of a unified operational control center of the republic, 112, is planned, within which the service of calls to separate telephone numbers: 911, 102, 103 will be stopped, and the citizen will receive the service of his call by one telephone number, with fast service from one point.

This is planned to be implemented in 2026. We will continue to make efforts in the direction of the second stage of the development of the patrol service as a new and modern model of the foreign service. "The institutionalization of the criminal and community police, which started their activities in Yerevan and regions from November 1, will be ensured," he said.

Ghazaryan emphasized that this project also highlights the fact that the strategy also touches on the topic of crime prevention, envisaging the development of a comprehensive action plan for crime prevention. "The last pillar of the police, the police guard, will be implemented.

The strategy will also address some sensitive issues of human rights protection, providing for the introduction of a mechanism for recording alleged cases of ill-treatment, introduction of a unified video surveillance system for police departments, police stations, and increasing the effectiveness of ensuring the right to protect personal data.

All these measures are aimed at providing a more professional service to the public, guaranteeing a safer environment in the republic, strengthening the level of public trust and its continuous growth," said Vahe Ghazaryan.
