If necessary, Turkey will carry out military operations in northern Syria. mass media

The Turkish army, if necessary, will conduct cross-border operations against the militants of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK, banned in Turkey) stationed there in the north of Syria. This is reported by the Turkish media, referring to the sources of the Ministry of Defense of Turkey.

They commented on President Tayyip Erdoğan's statements about the possibility of such operations in the adjacent area to complete the creation of a 30 km security zone.
"It is the legal right of Turkey to take actions to ensure the security of our country and our borders from the point of view of international law and the right of self-defense," the message states.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has repeatedly announced plans to create a security zone in northern Syria to control a 600-kilometer stretch of the border and minimize terrorist threats from its territory. The Turkish authorities call the PKK the main threat to national security.
