As a result of Azerbaijani aggression and the forced displacement of Artsakh Armenians, the military-political leadership of Artsakh and many Armenian prisoners have been illegally held captive for more than a year.
Keeping our compatriots in prison in Baku is not only a consequence of Azerbaijan's anti-Armenian policy, the manifestations of which do not stop until now, but also an attempt to use human lives, freedom and dignity as a means of pressure in the current negotiation process.
In parallel with the 29th session (COP29) of the conference of participants of the United Nations "Framework Convention on Climate Change" to be held in Baku, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia
1. Calls on the international community to use its influence and demand that Azerbaijan immediately release the military-political leadership of Artsakh and all other Armenian prisoners who are illegally held in Baku.
2. Urges the government of the Republic of Armenia to actively cooperate with international organizations to achieve the military-political leadership of Artsakh and the release of all other Armenian prisoners.
3. Reminds the leadership of Azerbaijan that based on the fundamental provisions of international law and human rights, Azerbaijan is obliged to immediately release all Armenian prisoners.
