Armenian samba players won 2 silver and 4 bronze medals at the adult world championship held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
98 kg Arsen Khanjian and 64 kg martial sambo Maiis Nersisyan were awarded the title of vice-champion of the World Championship in the Armenian national team, standing on the second step of the honor platform.
Combat sambo men's 58 kg Hamlet Sukiasyan, 98 kg Arman Avanesyan and sports sambo women's +80 kg Anna Mkrtchyan became bronze medal winners of the World Championship.
Davit Hovsepyan, who was forcefully displaced from Nagorno Karabakh, weight 58 kg, who competed under the banner of the International Sambo Federation, was also awarded the bronze medal of the AA.
Karen Sargsyan (58 kg), Narek Dallakyan (64 kg), Karlen Mahinyan (71 kg), Boris Shatveryan (79 kg), Vahagn Chalyan (88 kg) were also included in the Armenian men's team.
Hamlet Sukiasyan (58 kg), Mher Merjanyan (71 kg), Sargis Vardanyan (79 kg), Avetik Poghosyan (88 kg), Arman Avanesyan (98 kg) also participated in the men's combat sambo team.
Arpine Amiryan (50 kg), Meline Mamikonyan (54 kg), Arpine Mnatsakanyan (50 kg) and Srbuhi Hovakimyan (54 kg) were also included in the women's team. Forced displaced persons from Nagorno Karabakh also participated in the refugee team under the banner of FIAS. Arsen Karapetyan (79 kg) and Davit Grigoryan (98 kg).
Armenian samba players participated in the world championship under the leadership of Vovik Khojayan. Mikael Hayrapetyan, the president of the Sambo Federation of Armenia, also went to the venue.
