The first human case of bird flu has been reported in Canada

The first case of human infection with H5 bird flu was registered in the province of Columbia, Canada.

It was found that the patient is a teenager who was transferred to one of the children's hospitals. About this news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP). The source of infection and possible contacts of the patient are investigated.

Canadian officials say the young man likely came into contact with a sick bird or animal.

The growing number of species vulnerable to bird flu is a cause for concern, although humans are rarely infected, scientists say.

Transmission of the pathogen is possible through close contact with the carrier or contaminated environment.

Experts fear that the virus will gain the ability to be transmitted from person to person through mutations.
