Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced the destruction of a terrorist group in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, according to Tasnim.
According to the IRGC, two members of the group were killed in a joint operation.
The operation was carried out by the IRGC's Quds Force, the Ministry of Intelligence, the IRGC's intelligence organization in the province, and the local command of law enforcement agencies. According to the Iranian side, the group was discovered as a result of intelligence surveillance.
The IRGC claims that the militants were planning to carry out terrorist attacks against pre-selected targets in the province. The statement also states that the group was linked to Israel and the United States and intended to carry out attacks in coordination with American military action against Iran.
