In his conversation with Sholtz, Aliyev noted that Armenia and Azerbaijan are close to the final agreement on the text of the peace treaty

On November 9, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

This is reported by the Azerbaijani mass media, referring to the press service of the head of Azerbaijan.

During the telephone conversation, Chancellor Olaf Scholz regretfully noted that due to the political situation in Germany, he will not be able to participate in the COP29 summit held in Azerbaijan.
Noting that Germany supports the establishment of peace and neighborly relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated in this context that his country calls on the parties to take bold steps.

In his turn, Aliyev claimed that "territorial claims against Azerbaijan stipulated by the Constitution of Armenia are still being respected."

He noted that "significant delay in the proposals on the text of the document by Armenia has negatively affected the process", however, despite this, the parties are close to reaching a final agreement on the text of the document, and negotiations will continue after the end of COP29.
