Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin, in an interview with RIA Novosti, called the statements that Moscow is imposing restrictions on the supply of Armenian agricultural products to Russia “manipulations.”
“A number of Armenian officials and information resources present them as some kind of “sanctions” applied by Moscow. These are manipulations that have nothing to do with reality,” Galuzin said.
According to him, the difficulties with the supply of certain categories of Armenian agricultural products are due to phytosanitary control. Russian requirements stipulate that Armenian producers use their own raw materials, control the content of pesticides and ensure the traceability of supplies.
“Our requirements are well known,” the diplomat noted, adding that the Armenian leadership “itself has acknowledged the existence of problems with the quality of some products.”
Galuzin emphasized that supply issues should be discussed between the relevant departments.
According to him, contacts between Rosselkhoznadzor, Rospotrebnadzor and Armenian partners are maintained.
