At today's session, the Central Election Commission (CEC) approved the distribution of the positions of chairman and secretary of the precinct election commission in the local government elections on September 27, 2026, among the parties and alliances of parties that have a faction in the National Assembly.
The CEC reports that through the "Elections" automated system, the positions of chairman and secretary were distributed in the following proportions:
"Civil Contract" party - 8 each,
"Strong Armenia" alliance of parties - 4 each,
"Armenia" alliance of parties - 2 each.
According to the CEC decision, applications for the appointment of members of precinct election commissions are submitted to the CEC from August 28, 2026, until September 2, 18:00.
By another decision adopted at the CEC session, the CEC accredited the observers of the "Akanates" observation mission to conduct an observation mission for the local self-government elections of September 27 and October 25, 2026.
