Finland's president says it's 'easy to breathe' in NATO

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has stated that Helsinki is unlikely to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization if it applies now. His words are quotedIlta-Sanomatthe newspaper.

He said that he is not sure that the country will join NATO under the current conditions. Finland became a member of the military bloc at the very last moment, Stub noted. He also thanked the allies for taking the appropriate decision.

"Yes, it is easier to breathe when we are in NATO," the president said.

According to the publication, on November 7, Finland's state-run Yle TV reported that Finland had offered its air base to host large NATO reconnaissance drones.
