During the meeting, the serious concern and resolute complaint of the Azerbaijani side regarding the provocative, insulting and threatening statements that have recently been made in the media and information field of the Russian Federation against the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani people and the leadership of the country were conveyed to the Russian side.
In particular, attention was drawn to the announcements made on August 13, 2026of the programduring which was broadcast within the framework of the "Purity of Perception" project and were directed against our country, our people and the leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In addition, the Russian side was reminded of the absurd claims made on the air of "Sputnik" radio station on August 7 regarding the inclusion of the leadership of Azerbaijan in the "list of terrorists and extremists of Russia", as well as the repeated publication of insulting materials and provocative judgments against the leadership of Azerbaijan on the YouTube platform on August 9 and on the Spas TV channel on August 16.
It was emphasized that discussing the possibilities of interfering in the internal political processes of the Azerbaijani state, as well as calling for physical violence against the Azerbaijani people and the leadership of Azerbaijan, are unacceptable.
It was noted that, despite the repeated calls of the Azerbaijani side to stop such activities and the discussion of this issue at various political levels, the continuation of similar rhetoric in an even harsher form causes serious concern.
During the meeting, our expectations were again conveyed to the Russian side to take urgent and effective measures in order to put an end to the provocative, threatening and violence-promoting rhetoric towards Azerbaijan in the information and media space of Russia," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan said.
Earlier, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan initiated a criminal case in this connection.
