Shots were fired at a concert in Kentucky. one person was killed, two children were injured (Photos)



One person was killed and four others were injured, including two children, as a result of the shooting that took place at an outdoor concert in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, the New York Post reports.

The shooting took place on the evening of August 15 in Charles Young Park in the center of the city, where a musical event was held. According to the police, the alarm was received at around 18:45 local time.

Two adults, a 14-year-old teenager and a 4-year-old child are among the victims. The injured were taken to the hospital, their condition is assessed as non-life-threatening. Another victim died.

The shooting happened about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from where Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear was speaking at the state's Democratic Party dinner at the time.

"Before continuing, I have to tell you some hard news," Beshir said, interrupting his speech. he reported that the shooting happened about a mile and a half from the venue.

Lexington Police are continuing to investigate. Police Chief Lawrence Weathers called on residents to report to the authorities about people who may pose a threat with weapons.

According to American media, the shooting in Lexington was one of several similar incidents recorded in the United States on Saturday.
