The number of missing persons sought by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in connection with the conflict in Ukraine has reached 266,000. The organization informed "RIA Novosti" about it.
"As of the end of July, the families who have contacted the ICRC are searching for 266,000 missing persons on both sides, both soldiers and civilians," the organization's press service reported.
The Red Cross opened a central tracing agency office in Geneva in March 2022 for issues related to the international conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The Office serves as a neutral intermediary between parties to the conflict and collects, organizes and transmits information on the fate and whereabouts of military and civilian personnel who are missing or separated from their families.
