Pashinyan should present the government plan next week. The process in the National Assembly is still dragging on. "People"

"Zhoghovurd" daily writes: "The inaugural session of the National Assembly of the ninth convocation, which started on August 2, seems to continue for a long time.

According to "Zhoghovurd" daily, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan should present the government's program to the parliament next week. However, until then, the parliament has managed to discuss the candidature of the chairman of only six standing committees. Among those discussed are the two candidates of the opposition "Strong Armenia" faction, Davit Ghazinyan, the candidate for the chairman of the Standing Committee on Territorial Management and Infrastructures, and Hayk Faramanyan, the candidate for the chairman of the Standing Committee on Finance, Credit and Budgetary Issues. According to our information, the government clearly shows with all its steps that it has no intention of electing those two candidates to the positions of the heads of the said committees. The problem is that the parliament still has to discuss six more nominations for the chairman of the commission.

At the same time, the question arises whether the government will finally approve the nominations of the opposition. If the candidates are not elected, the opposition will have to nominate new candidates, their candidacies will be discussed again, and the issue will be put to a vote again. Thus, a rather uncertain situation has been created in the National Assembly. However, the government cannot delay the process endlessly, because according to the Constitution, the prime minister is obliged to present the government's plan to the parliament within 20 days after being appointed. Taking into account that Nikol Pashinyan was appointed as the prime minister on August 2, that period expires at the end of next week. It is difficult to predict what developments will happen in the coming days.

Details in today's issue of "Zhoghovurd" daily.
