The Economist learned about Kyiv's analysis of two public positions on ending the conflict

Ukrainian officials are considering two public formulations to end the conflict, writes a British magazineThe Economist.
One of the plans announced by US vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance includes freezing the conflict along the demarcation line and forcing Ukraine to neutrality without clear security guarantees.
The second plan was proposed by former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and involves strengthening military and financial support for Kyiv to contain Russia, as well as preserving the chance of Ukraine's membership in NATO.

The publication notes that Ukrainian officials prefer the second option, but everything depends on the decision of US President-elect Donald Trump. In September, Vance said that Trump’s plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict involves Kyiv’s refusal to join NATO.
