Gas stations in Ukraine have started to limit the sale of diesel fuel

Gas station networks in Ukraine are starting to apply restrictions on the sale of diesel fuel per filling, ranging from 50 to 100 liters. This move mainly applies to stations located on highways, which are used by truck drivers and long-distance transporters. It is now more profitable for them to fill up at gas stations than at oil depots, because the difference between wholesale and retail prices has decreased significantly.

A number of operators are already taking this step. for example, the maximum limit of one charge in the OKKO network is set at 100 liters. The purpose of the restrictions is to prevent the rapid depletion of fuel reserves, as logistics chains do not always manage to fill them in time. The deficit is the result of a sharp decrease in supplies to Ukraine, restrictions on shipments from Europe, as well as the shallowing of the Danube, which has complicated river transport. At the same time, the country finds it difficult to make up the deficit at the expense of other directions.

According to expert assessment, a complete stoppage of diesel fuel sales is not predicted in the near future, but it will regularly become unavailable at individual gas stations. As of July 31, the average price of diesel fuel in Ukraine reached 90.55 hryvnias ($2.03) per liter.
