There is no conflict between the CSTO and Armenia, and it is wrong to say that it allegedly arose from the escalation of tensions between Yerevan and Baku, Viktor Vasiliev, the permanent representative of Russia to the CSTO, told RIA Novosti.
The diplomat emphasized that for years, including in various international formats, attempts have been made to find compromise solutions for the Karabakh settlement.
According to him, the Russian Federation has proposed "appropriate solutions, which are well known to the leadership of both Armenia and Azerbaijan".
He noted that "the conflict had nothing to do with the CSTO mandate, and Yerevan knows that."
Armenia has frozen its participation in CSTO in 2024.
