In the Russian-Ukrainian war zone, on the night of August 1, the sides carried out massive airstrikes, and during the previous day, more than 240 combat clashes were recorded in different parts of the front. According to the Ukrainian authorities, Russian forces attacked Kiev with ballistic missiles and drones.
As a result of the attack, at least 9 people were killed and around 30 were injured, including children. Damages were recorded in seven administrative districts of the capital of Ukraine, fires broke out in residential and non-residential buildings, there were power supply failures in some areas.
According to the emergency service of Ukraine, a five-story residential building was damaged and caught fire in the Solomyansk region. 35 people were evacuated from the upper floors of the building. As a result of the strikes, residential houses, cars, administrative and other buildings were damaged in the Darnitsky region. The Ministry of Defense of Russia has confirmed the fact of a massive attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
According to the Russian side, Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises and logistics centers involved in the production, storage and supply of missiles, drones, radar stations and radio electronic warfare equipment were targeted. The Ministry of Defense of Russia noted a number of production enterprises located in Kiev, as well as a logistics center operating in Vishnevoye settlement of Kyiv region. At the time of publication, the Ukrainian side and independent sources had not confirmed the list of military facilities presented by the Russian Ministry of Defense and the extent of their damage.
At the same time, the Ministry of Defense of Russia announced that from 20:00 on July 31 to 07:00 on August 1, the Russian anti-aircraft defenses intercepted or destroyed 274 aircraft-type Ukrainian ATS. According to the report, the drones were shot down in the sky of more than a dozen regions of Russia, the Moscow region, the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea, as well as the water areas of the Black and Azov seas. Ukraine has not confirmed that number.
According to the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at 08:00 on August 1, 243 combat clashes were registered on the front during the previous day. According to the information of the Ukrainian side, the most intensive battles took place in the direction of Pokrovsk, where 37 attacks were recorded, in the direction of Kostiantynivka - 26, in the direction of Sloviansk - 19, and in the direction of South Slobojanshchyna - 17.
The General Staff of Ukraine also reported that the country's missile forces and artillery hit two drone control points of the Russian forces, 15 military concentration areas, one warehouse and another military facility.
