Ukraine is considering opening a criminal case against Lukashenko

The staff of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky sent an application to the Prosecutor General's Office of the country with a request to initiate criminal proceedings against the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. "Ukrainform" news agency informed about this on July 31.

In the message of the Prosecutor General's Office published on the Telegram channel of the media, it is noted that the application received from the President's Office was registered in the Prosecutor General's Office on July 30, in order to discuss it within the limits of jurisdiction.

It is reported that the petition of Zelensky's staff is currently under consideration. According to the press secretary of the department, Maryana Gayovskaya-Kovbasyuk, no criminal proceedings have been initiated on this issue yet.

"Ukrainform" also noted that the proposal to initiate a criminal case was presented to Zelensky's staff by the "Forum of Democratic Forces of Belarus" organization, which is recognized as extremist in Belarus and operates in the territory of Ukraine.

On June 29, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin announced that Zelensky had moved from verbal threats to Belarus to practical actions by initiating terrorist attacks. This is how he commented on the attack of the armed forces of Ukraine on the bus that was transporting children to participate in sports competitions. Galuzin emphasized that such actions deserve all kinds of condemnation and decisive opposition.

On June 25, Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko told about the meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian leader, during which he warned the Ukrainian delegation that Kiev's attempt to involve Minsk in the conflict would instantly change its quality. At the same time, he emphasized that Belarus does not want to go to war with Ukrainians, who in turn do not want to go to war with Belarusians.
