"It is the basis of any negotiation. They start with a ceasefire, and Iran should take the first step," said the interlocutor of the periodical.
According to him, Trump made it clear that he wants to reach an agreement as soon as possible.
"However, if the Iranians continue to attack ships, American military bases and US allies in the Persian Gulf, they will have to pay for it," said the unnamed official.
