NATO member and individual Western countries are trying to "tear" Armenia from its CSTO allies. This was announced to RIA Novosti by the permanent representative of Russia in the CSTO Viktor Vasilev.
"We notice the desire of NATO members and individual Western countries to "tear" Armenia off from its CSTO allies, including by conducting joint military exercises."Vasiliev said.
In his assessment, such an approach of the current leadership of Armenia does not correspond to the long-term interests of ensuring the country's security and sovereignty.
"Those who study the history of the region, including centuries, will probably find many facts that prove that the fate of the Armenian people was very complicated and sometimes bloody. Who has been the main guarantor of its safety and prosperity throughout its long history is unequivocal and obvious.- added the Russian diplomat.
