Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen announced on Friday that the European Union should discuss the issue of suspending Spain's membership in the Schengen zone. "Undoubtedly, the EU should immediately take all necessary measures and discuss all options, including the suspension of cooperation within the Schengen zone.
Uncontrolled migration poses a threat to Europe and Denmark," the prime minister was quoted as saying by Agence France-Presse.
Frederiksen noted that he had already spoken with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who suggested suspending the Schengen agreement with Spain. "We are meeting with European leaders to discuss the situation," he added.
