From August 8, Americans will be able to purchase a souvenir passport with the portrait of US President Donald Trump, which coincides with the 250th anniversary of the country's independence, the American diplomatic service reports. "Beginning August 8, you can apply for a commemorative American 250th anniversary passport at your local passport agency," the State Department wrote on the X social network.
According to the State Department description, the commemorative passport features a portrait of Trump with the text of the Declaration of Independence in the background, a gold Freedom 250 flag and an image of the founding fathers signing the document. In addition, the State Department announced the release of an additional 250,000 copies due to overwhelming demand.
Initially, the agency planned to limit the number of passports to only 25,000-30,000, exclusively for the US capital, Washington.
