Lithuania and the Netherlands have signed an agreement on the exchange and protection of classified information, the Ministry of Defense of the Baltic Republic announced. "The signed agreement creates conditions for the exchange of classified information between the Ministries of Defense of Lithuania and the Netherlands, as well as other responsible bodies," Lithuanian Deputy Minister Dainius Ivoška said in the statement.
The agreement defines the obligations and requirements of the parties. It sets out the necessary measures for the protection of confidential information, including the organization of visits, the procedures for its transfer and the investigation of possible violations.
As noted by the Ministry of Defense, the Netherlands is one of the most active allies in the NATO Joint Advance Battalion Battlegroup based in Lithuania, which is NATO's mission to protect the airspace of the Baltic States.
