Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had a telephone conversation with the head of European diplomacy, Kaya Callas.
The topic of the conversation between Abbas Araghchi and Kaya Kallas was the situation in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. The parties emphasized the need for diplomatic initiatives aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
Araghchi called on the European Union and the United Nations to respond to the attack on the Iranian commercial ship in the Caspian Sea.
Abbas Araghchi demanded to bring to justice the perpetrators of the attack and those who support the attack, otherwise they will receive a decisive response from Iran. He also stated that the UN Security Council, the European Union and the international community should give a decisive response.
To remind: Iran has accused Ukraine of attacking an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea. The Iranian Foreign Ministry reported that one person was killed and another was injured as a result of the attack. The foreign political department of Iran also handed over a note of protest to the charge d'affaires of Ukraine.
