The President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev stated that he is sorry for the young people who died as a result of the war, stressing that they are the "gene pool of the brotherly peoples" of Russia and Ukraine.
"This war must stop. It is sad, of course, for young people. People die. This is the gene pool of the fraternal peoples of Russia and Ukraine. And all this should be stopped because, in my deep conviction, what is happening is beneficial and brings joy to the opponents of both Russia and the Ukrainian state," Tokayev said.
Speaking about Kazakhstan's position towards Russia, he noted that Astana has always considered Russia and continues to consider it a great state.
"Do not doubt that we have always considered and continue to consider Russia a great state. I speak about it on all international platforms. We are committed to strategic cooperation and alliance relations with Russia, however difficult it may be. Today's forum is a proof of that," the President of Kazakhstan emphasized.
