The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia, Davit Khudatyan, had a meeting with the Minister of Oil of Iran, Mohsen Paknejad, as part of his visit to Iran, Mehr reports.
The Iranian minister, highly appreciating Armenia's support in difficult times, reaffirmed Tehran's readiness to deepen cooperation with the northwestern neighbor within its capabilities.
He noted that the existing energy partnership between the two countries is based on the "gas for electricity" principle.
Paknejad stated that Iran proposed a new commercial model aimed at expanding the export of natural gas.
As reported by Tasnim, Paknezhad added that for the implementation of the proposal, it is necessary to comprehensively assess the existing infrastructure and the expediency of expanding gas trade outside the Armenian market by using Armenia as a regional transit corridor.
