Bloomberg: The British Prime Minister has agreed to the US using British bases to attack Iran

The new Prime Minister of Great Britain, Andy Burnham, did not withdraw his predecessor, Keir Starmer's agreement to the US use of British military bases for strikes against Iran. This is reported by Bloomberg, referring to sources.

According to the agency, on July 17, Starmer had a meeting with high-ranking officials to discuss Britain's approach to the resumption of US military operations against Iran. As a result of these discussions, the British authorities decided to restore the right to use British military bases to strike missile depots in Iran and targets used for firing on ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

It refers to the joint British-American base on Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean and RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, England, which is the main base of US heavy bombers in Europe. London characterizes such strikes as defensive actions. According to Bloomberg, Burnham, who assumed the post of Prime Minister on July 20, was informed about the discussions and agreed with the decision.
