During the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings being investigated in the Masis investigative department of the Ararat Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, a number of circumstances of the case of illegal trafficking of narcotics in large amounts by a 40-year-old resident of Yerevan were revealed.
This is reported by the RA Criminal Investigation Department. on November 5, a person working as a waiter in one of the hotels-restaurants operating in Ararat Marz, RA, was arrested on suspicion of possessing, using and selling illegal narcotics. According to his statement, "Crystal" type narcotic was found during a personal search.
As a result of the conducted investigative and administrative actions, it was found that the said person acquired the drug-like mass, weighing 2.42 grams, from the employee of the same hotel-restaurant, a 40-year-old resident of Yerevan.
The examination confirmed that the said mass is "Methamphetamine" type of drug. The factual data obtained by the examination proved that the 40-year-old man, with the purpose of selling narcotics for selfish motives, illegally acquired large amounts of it from an unidentified citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran. said drug, which he packed in three different packages with almost equal weights for the purpose of sale.
2024 at the beginning of November, the 40-year-old man illegally sold the mentioned drug, packed in packages, in exchange for money, to his colleague in the administrative area of Masis municipality, which was discovered and taken by the latter's personal search on November 5.
During the search of the workplace of a 40-year-old resident of Yerevan, a large quantity, namely, a total of 772g of "Marijuana", 559g of "Hashish" and 274g of "Methamphetamine"-type narcotics, were found in a packaged state, as well as many zip valves and scales.
In order to find out the nature and specific weights of the found masses, an appropriate examination was appointed.
In addition, during the search in the apartment of the mentioned person, a total of 500 packages of excise-free, local and foreign cigarettes of various types were found and confiscated. Based on the obtained sufficient facts, a public criminal prosecution was initiated against the 40-year-old man. The latter was arrested on the basis of being presented to the court and he was charged under Article 393, Part 3, Clause 2 of the RA Criminal Code.
A petition has been submitted to the court regarding the selection of detention as a preventive measure against the accused.
The investigation is ongoing. Measures are being taken in order to find out the sources of acquisition of both narcotics and discovered duty-free cigarettes, as well as the possible involvement of other persons in illegal drug trafficking.
