"They could say with the same success that Aslanyan separated 3 pieces of 20 square meters from the 3000 hectares of land of the Vanadzor community or 29 thousand 743 square kilometers of the Republic of Armenia. That is something to say, if it is to be expropriated or leased, it should be separated." This is how the former mayor of Vanadzor, Mamikon Aslanyan, responded to the announcement of the Anti-Corruption Committee about the new criminal proceedings initiated against him.
"When I heard that material about me, I was a little scared by that voice. Anyway, this is not news, this speaks of the low qualities of treating criminal law with such methods by the legal community. I don't see any reason to be surprised or intimidated, it has become a common phenomenon in recent years. We live in this country, these customs prevail today," added Aslanyan.
Referring to the petition related to Narek Karapetyan, whose investigation is being carried out at the CEC, Mamikon Aslanyan noted that the commission does not currently have the authority to examine such a matter.
"After the decision on the allocation of mandates, it is up to the future National Assembly to decide," he added.
