Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), stated that attacks on any nuclear power plant, regardless of its location, are unacceptable. "I want to send a very clear and very important message that is being discussed in the UN Security Council and the IAEA Board of Governors. any attack on any nuclear power plant is impossible and unacceptable," he said in a conversation with journalists after the talks with Alexei Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom State Corporation.
"Regardless of whether it is Zaporozhye NPP, Bushehr, Barakah, or Kursk. I don't see any distinction in the names of nuclear facilities," Grossi emphasized. The Director General of the IAEA noted that the agency is not currently considering or confirming any direct attack on the nuclear power plant located in the city of Bushehr, Iran.
"We, like Rosatom, are monitoring the situation in Bushehr and call on all parties to exercise maximum restraint, as the physical integrity of any nuclear facility is an absolute priority for the safety of nuclear facilities," Grossi said. "Any impact on the physical integrity of nuclear facilities is absolutely unacceptable," he repeated.
