"Zhoghovurd" daily writes:
"Yesterday, Alen Simonyan announced in a conversation with journalists that he will not be in the next parliament, he will give up his parliamentary mandate, going on vacation. A person who was nominated as a candidate for the NA president a week ago.
"I discussed with the Prime Minister, I will not take the mandate, I will not come to the National Assembly. There is a party, there is a department and I obey the decision of the department. I haven't discussed the next steps with the Prime Minister, but I can't imagine myself in politics without Nikol Pashinyan... I have decided to take a break at my own request," stated Alen Simonyan.
Although he is obviously upset with his teammates, he also expressed the idea that "If the Prime Minister says to do nothing for a year, I will most likely do it. The rules of the game are like that," admitted the chairman of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan.
Let's remind that until yesterday, Alen Simonyan's teammates were in a hurry to circulate their desired versions on media platforms: that the Speaker of the National Assembly will be appointed the President of the Republic of Armenia, then it was written that no, he will become the Mayor of Yerevan, and then that he can assume any ministerial position. However, in reality, he is not going anywhere. is tired Nikol Pashinyan has already publicly given the answer to that question, without any further explanation.
When asked whether Alen Simonyan will continue his work in the parliament as a deputy, Pashinyan said a few days ago.
"We will discuss, he will make a decision, and the team will make a decision. We will combine our opinions, discuss and see. But I think it's very important that we not only have people in that position, but also people who have been in that position before, because it is, after all, an experience. At the moment, our team includes two former presidents of the National Assembly, former ministers, former deputy prime minister, and so on. It is political capital, which I consider very important."
In other words, according to Pashinyan, Alen Simonyan's future in the CP is essentially the status of "political capital".
And why did the CP treat Alen Simonyan so cruelly?
CP sources of Zhoghovurd daily explain that the reason is quite simple. As long as he was the Speaker of the National Assembly, almost no one in the CP dared to openly oppose him or take any demonstrative step, except for Hayk Sargsyan, whom Alen Simonyan defeated and was able to leave out of the proceedings. According to those estimates, the other CP members were just waiting for a suitable moment to "take revenge" on Alen Simonyan and his small team.
It is said that from deputies to assistants, at different times, they were upset with Alen Simonyan's teammates for different reasons, and these grievances accumulated over time. There are MPs who have never gone on any business trip in 5 years, but Hasmik Hakobyan, the former assistant of Alen Simonyan, was everywhere by the NA Speaker's side. There are CP deputies for whom Alen Simonyan was unavailable, his few teammates blocked the entrance of many CP members to the Speaker of the National Assembly and so on. In KP, they take turns remembering everything and urge not to be surprised why it turned out like this. Everything was reported to Nikol Pashinyan and the consequences were drawn. Of course, the shameful history of spitting on a citizen, the behavior of Simonyan's mother, the corruption scandals of his brother and his wife could not escape Pashinyan's eyes. As a result, today Alen Simonyan can mostly be seen only with the representatives of his closest circle, in the company of his former assistant, now advisor Ashkhen Hayrapetyan, deputy Hasmik Hakobyan and his partner, the head of the NA staff Davit Arakelyan. "Yesterday, he was already entering the parliament's chambers, saying goodbye to the staff."
