The brother became a donor and saved his sister's life

The Armenian Registry of Bone Marrow Donors reports:

"Today, the 44th collection of life-giving cells was carried out in the Armenian registry of bone marrow donors. The donor for the patient was his brother, Garik Petrosyan, who was sure from the first day that he would definitely match his sister and that he would save her sister's life. Garik already donated his donor stem cells to his sister in April this year, but today the sister needs her help again and the donor goes through the cell collection phase again.

The cells will be accompanied by a licensed international transporter to Germany within hours, where the transplant will take place. Every transplant is a test. Every link in the chain of professionals who transfer the hope of life from hand to hand, from country to country, must work without interruption. At this time, all borders are opened, people have only one goal - to deliver viable cells hours earlier and help the patient overcome the deadly disease. The Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry was established in 1999 and registered as a non-profit charitable organization.

The goal of the foundation is to find a suitable donor of bone marrow/stem cells for the patient, to organize donor recruitment among all Armenians. To date, more than 33,500 donors have volunteered in the registry, and 5,816 potential donors were initially matched with 5,867 patients who applied to the registry, 44 of whom donated their blood stem cells.

We remind you that to become a donor, you need to be 18-50 years old, donate 3 ml of blood and fill out a questionnaire. Donating is a harmless and seamless process that takes only minutes, but has the potential to save a life if a match is found later."
