The Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan, as part of her working visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, met the President of the European Union Criminal Justice Agency (Eurojust) Ladislav Hamran in The Hague on November 6, 2024.

Anna Vardapetyan thanked the President of Eurojust for the warm welcome and emphasized that the third meeting within a year is a proof of the developing interaction between the two institutions. The RA Prosecutor General highlighted the cooperation agreement between Armenia and Eurojust signed in Brussels on April 5, 2024, which was ratified by the RA National Assembly on September 10, and on September 23, Armenia signed a working agreement with Eurojust.

Let's remind that the Agreement envisages the possibility of sending a Prosecutor of Commonwealth Affairs from Armenia to Eurojust. Representation of the Prosecutor's Office in Eurojust will provide an opportunity to ensure operational communication with contact persons of EU member states and third countries, will provide an opportunity to implement more effective international legal cooperation with criminal proceedings initiated in the Republic of Armenia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the ongoing work towards the implementation of the Agreement and referred to other issues of mutual interest. During the visit to Eurojust, the Prosecutor General of RA also had meetings with the representatives of Italy and Greece at Eurojust.
