US President Donald Trump has stated that he does not see any problem with the possible termination of negotiations with Iran and is ready to maintain the current blockade as long as necessary. NBC News journalist Garrett Hake wrote about this in X.
"President Trump told me that he has not heard any message from Iran about the termination of negotiations with the United States, but if it is true, then it is acceptable to him," the journalist wrote.
According to Trump, this does not mean the resumption of military operations. "It does not mean that we will go and start throwing bombs everywhere. We will just be silent. We will maintain the blockade. The blockade is a steel wall," Hayek quoted the American leader as saying.
Answering the question whether he is ready to wait for Tehran's decision, Trump said that he can wait as long as they want. "They are losing an entire asset," said the current president of the White House.
Earlier, Iran's Tasnim news agency reported that Tehran stopped communication with Washington in protest against Israel's escalation of the situation in Lebanon. The US and Iran have been exchanging messages on a draft agreement on extending the ceasefire and restoring shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
