RA Statistical Committee has published a bulletin on the permanent population. According to the summary, as of October 1, 2024, the permanent population of RA is 3 million 67 thousand people. The most densely populated community is the capital. 1 million 136 thousand people live in Yerevan.
Among the administrative regions, Malatia-Sebastia, Nor Nork, Erebuni administrative regions have the largest population. The least populated administrative district is Nubarashen. According to statistical data, 12 thousand people live here.
Regions are also notable for their uneven population distribution. Kotayk marz ranks first in terms of population concentration with 292,000 citizens. The marzes closest to Yerevan, Ararat and Armavir, are also distinguished by their dense population.
The most sparsely populated marz is the smallest marz of Armenia, Vayots Dzor, with 49,000 people.
In general, the population of Armenia is mostly concentrated in urban areas - 1 million 976 people.
