US President Donald Trump is increasingly discussing the possibility of resuming large-scale military action against Iran, CNN reports, citing anonymous aides of the American leader.
According to their sources, the White House is losing patience with the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as with the Islamic Republic's refusal to make significant concessions to Washington, which the US president attributes to alleged disagreements within Iran's leadership.
CNN reports that there are several camps in the White House, each offering different next steps regarding Tehran. Some US administration officials advocate a more aggressive approach, including strikes against Iran, to weaken the Islamic Republic, while others continue to insist on continued diplomatic efforts.
