Takaichi: Japan has become a target of subversive activities by foreign intelligence agencies

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has called for the rapid adoption of anti-espionage legislation, claiming that certain foreign organizations are actively engaged in subversive activities in the country. He gave a speech at the plenary session of the upper house of the parliament, where the discussions on the bill for the establishment of the National Intelligence Council and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) began.

"Foreign intelligence agencies are actively carrying out sabotage operations against our country.

We are facing the urgent problem of preparing a mechanism to prevent such illegal interference," said the Prime Minister. He claimed that certain foreign intelligence agencies are trying to influence Japanese elections by spreading false information. In this regard, he emphasized the importance of strengthening Japanese intelligence agencies.
