At the age of 87, media magnate and founder of CNN, businessman Ted Turner died.
Turner founded CNN, the first cable news channel to broadcast 24 hours a day, in 1980. The main feature of the television company was the fast delivery of news and later the live broadcasting of events.
US President Donald Trump called him "one of the greatest figures in the history of broadcasting and a friend".
In 1991, Time magazine named Turner its "Person of the Year" for "influencing the course of events and turning viewers into first-hand accounts of history."
