The second main issue on the agenda of the meeting of foreign ministers is the situation in the Middle East. According to the bulletin, in addition to the internal discussion, the EU foreign ministers will informally discuss the current situation with their counterparts from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, as well as the Secretary General of the Arab League. The EU Council will discuss the situation of Georgia and Venezuela in the section on current international issues. On May 24, the official representative of the EU foreign policy service, Peter Stano, told journalists that "the future of relations between Georgia and the European Union also depends on the latest developments in this country" in connection with the adoption of the "Transparency of Foreign Influence" law.
